We are hearing
reports of striped bass schoolies in the Saco & Kennebec Rivers.
No reports yet of stripers in the St. George River. Ice is nearly out on inland lakes
with smelt grouping along the river inlets. 3-4 lb. salmon rising to streamers.

Who needs a
fishing license?
No resident of this
state, 16 years of age or older, or nonresident, 12 years of age or older, may fish in
open water or through the ice in inland waters, or transport fish taken from inland
waters, without first obtaining a valid Maine fishing license.
